watching a nervous friend beat her very first tower

i finally convinced a nervous new friend to try tower of hell and she almost quit within the first two minutes, because no checkpoints is a real shock when youre used to gentler obbies. but i stayed on voice chat and just kept encouraging her, telling her to breathe, look at the jump before she committed to it, and reminding her that falling is literally how every single person learns this game. she failed the same wraparound section probably fifteen times in a row. and then she just didnt. she cleared it, then the next section, then the next, and when the whole tower finally finished she actually screamed with joy. i was grinning the entire time. thats the thing about the hard games, at the start the encouragement matters so much more than the skill does. so proud of her. we all begin by falling a lot.
