movement is basic, theres nothing to master, and the entities are a coin flip. your run ends because ambush chose to reverse the exact second you left the closet, not because you misplayed. i cant improve at a dice roll. its a perfectly fine game if you just want to be spooked with friends, i wont pretend its not, but people calling it hard are confusing rng with difficulty. i want to lose because i wasnt good enough. here i lose because the game rolled it that round. 2

i get the mechanical gripe but youre reviewing doors like its an obby. its not about tech to master, its the dread and the sound design doing the work. ambush reversing on you IS the horror, not a balance bug.

this is my whole gripe with doors any%. i can route every hallway and drawer perfectly and still lose because ambush decides to reverse the exact second i commit. no amount of practice fixes a coin flip. the movement is clean, the rng just refuses to let you be consistent.

the rng sting when ambush reverses at the worst possible second is so real, i feel that. but id gently argue the unpredictability is kind of the point of horror, its what keeps your heart pounding. one idea the devs could try: a slightly clearer audio tell before a reverse, so a death feels earned instead of random. still rooting for the hotel.
