3am squad run when everyone panics at once

co-op doors at 3am is a different animal. four of us on mic, all pretending we are brave. the lights start flickering and buzzing, that is the tell, and someone screams RUSH before diving into a closet. we all cram in, hold our breath, and watch this face-melting blur scream past through the door gap. we exhale, step out, and immediately the lights flicker AGAIN, ambush, the fake-out one that comes back the way it left. cue everyone diving back into closets while one guy panics, runs the wrong way, and gets deleted. later i look away from the screen for one second and screech pops up whispering in the dark right in my ear because nobody clicked it in time. we were all screaming, half laughing, genuinely scared. no other game turns a group of friends into a panicking mess this fast. this is the exact reason i play horror.
