watched jailbreak grow up, and grow a gift shop

i was around pretty early for jailbreak and it's been genuinely interesting watching it age, because it's one of the rare ones that actually lasted. when it dropped it felt like someone finally built the cops-and-robbers game the old classics were always reaching for — a real map, real heists, cars you saved up for and felt proud to drive, teamwork that mattered. for a long stretch it was the best open world on the site and it earned every player it had. what i'm more mixed on is what 'staying alive' has cost it. somewhere along the line the season passes arrived, the premium vehicles, the seasonal fomo — all the modern roblox monetization furniture the launch version never needed. and look, i get it: servers cost money, the devs deserve to eat, i'm not truly mad about it. but a small part of me misses when longevity meant 'we keep adding fun stuff' instead of 'we keep adding things to buy.' still a classic. still respect it. just watched it grow a gift shop on the way up.

the gift shop line got me. i left before half this monetization even existed and coming back its everywhere now, but jailbreak at least earned its keep instead of just bolting eggs onto everything. bittersweet watching it grow up.

i love that you got to watch it grow up the whole way through. i left and came back to a bunch of new stuff but the core, crew up and hit the bank, never changed. its one of the rare ones that aged gracefully
