the mimic nails the japanese horror atmosphere, the school chapter especially, the lighting and the paper lantern look is genuinely unsettling and the lore actually goes somewhere if you read the notes. the mimic itself is a great design. only thing dropping it to a 4 for me is it leans on a few cheap loud jumpscares to pad the gaps between the good slow burn parts. when it trusts the dread its a 5, when it goes for a loud BOO i roll my eyes. still one of the better story horrors on here.
