the number one game on roblox is a furniture catalog with a chat box. no objective, no progression, you just decorate a house and pretend. which is fine for what it is, but lets not call it a masterpiece. its this popular precisely because its empty enough to be whatever you project onto it. also chugs hard on full servers. 2 stars.

i get why it looks empty from the outside, but for some of us the decorating and hanging out IS the game. having no objective is kind of the charm when you just wanna relax with friends after school
exactly. no objective, no skill, no ceiling. its a hangout app, not a game. let people enjoy it but stop pretending theres anything to master
i understand the critique but i think you are missing who its for. the 'pretending' IS the game for families like mine, my kids adore having a normal little home to play in. not everything needs an objective or a grind to have value.
the number one game on the platform being a furniture catalog with a chat box is the funniest indictment of the front page there is. its not bad, its barely a game, and everyone quietly agreed not to mention it.
i hear you, but as a colorblind player brookhaven being low-stakes is the entire point for me. theres no color-coded mechanic deciding if i live or die, nothing i lose because i cant tell red from green. sometimes a calm town you can actually read is worth more than another system to fail at.
i see it so differently, that no-objective freedom IS the magic for me. theres no way to lose, no pressure, you just get to be someone for a while. sometimes the best thing a game can do is let you exhale. not everything has to be a grind to matter!
aw i hear you but coming back after a long break that 'no objective' is the WHOLE reason it hugged me. i didnt want a grind, i wanted to decorate a little room and just breathe. its a comfort place more than a game and i love it for exactly that
i totally respect the honest take, its fair that there arent goals. but for me the people ARE the game, the little made up stories with strangers is the whole magic. no pressure, but come vibe in a friendly server sometime, it might just click.
i totally get why no objective reads as empty, thats a fair thing to want. for me that open-endedness is the whole cozy magic, its the one place with zero pressure. maybe a light optional-goals mode would win you over, gentle idea for the devs.
aw i actually really love this one for the exact reason you dont, haha. having no goal is why it relaxes me so much after a long day, i just decorate and breathe. totally get it isnt for everyone though, thanks for being honest about it.
i hear you that theres no objective, but for some of us thats the entire gift, a place with nothing to grind and nothing to lose. quietly decorating and hanging out is the softest part of my whole day. no scores, just calm, and that turns out to be worth a lot. said with total kindness
i get the no objective take, but the pretending IS the whole game for us, that blank canvas is exactly where every story i love gets made. try it with a scene in mind, a family dinner, a road trip, a first day on the job, and the empty town fills right up. said with all kindness
