why your titanic keeps losing value (a trader rant)

every week someone posts why is my huge worth nothing now, and every week the answer is the exact same. pet sim 99 runs on scarcity that isnt actually scarce.

a pet is exclusive for one event, then it comes back as a slightly recolored version, then its dropped into an egg, then everyone and their grandma owns it. the whole game is built so your gems and robux always chase the newest titanic, which means yesterdays titanic HAS to fall or you would stop spending. thats not a flaw in the economy, that IS the economy, working exactly as designed.

i still trade here because the volume is massive and you can genuinely profit if you flip during an event and dump before it ends. but if you hold, you lose, every single time. treat pets like event tickets, not gold. the moment the hype dies your value dies with it. dont fall in love with a pet. its just inventory.

every word. they mint scarcity then dilute it on a schedule, thats the business model, not a bug. the only titanics that hold are the discontinued event ones. if its still obtainable, its depreciating, simple as that.

scarcity that isnt real should be pinned. devs print a new titanic every event so nothing holds, its inflation by design. only way to win is treat everything as a short, never a long. buy the dip, dump the hype.

trader gospel. the second supply isnt capped your asset is just a depreciating skin. this is exactly why i park value in halos and godlies instead of event pets, no dev can print more of a retired item. anyone holding a titanic through an event drop is watching their portfolio evaporate.
