solid co-op survival with a satisfying gather and craft loop. the climb from scraping for wood to a proper defensible camp feels earned, and splitting roles with a group, one gathering, one building, one on defense, is where it shines. patient players will like that rushing gets you killed and steady prep wins the night. drops to a 4 solo since its clearly built for a team and the night loop gets repetitive on your own. with friends its great.

About this game
Build a camp with friends. Something is watching you. 99 Nights in the Forest (Description fetched from Roblox.)
gather wood, build up camp, hold off whatever comes at night, repeat. solo its a chore. the one thing keeping it afloat is playing with people, and a decent co-op night can actually be a good time. take the friends away and its a very average survival game. the co-op is doing all the heavy lifting here. 3.
the co-op survival loop is free and honestly good with a group. my one fairness gripe is the gamepass pets and starter gear, dropping in a paid wolf or a loot pack kind of undercuts the whole point of a SURVIVAL game where scarcity is supposed to be the challenge. you can absolutely play and finish it spending nothing though, and that keeps it at a fair 3. dont sell me safety in a game thats meant to make me sweat for it.
co op forest survival, gather and craft through the day, defend the camp when night falls. its a decent time with friends and the first few nights carry real tension. but it gets grindy and repetitive faster than id like and you can feel the trend chasing in it. fun for a session or two. i dont see myself still booting this up in a year the way i still open the classics. its ok.
first couple nights actually got me, chopping wood and scrambling to fortify camp while something moves in the treeline is properly tense in the dark. problem is it settles into the same loop fast, gather, craft, defend, repeat, and once you know the rhythm the fear just drains out. fine with a group to joke around with, but as a horror hit it fizzles into a grind. middle of the road.
this had its MOMENT. the survive the forest coop grind was everywhere for a minute, gathering and defending the camp through the nights. numbers are still ok but you can feel it sliding down the charts, its not what everyone is talking about anymore. fun while it was hot, im already eyeing whats next. 3.
