pet sim 99 is basically my second home. the whole loop of hatching eggs, watching your pets get stronger, and breaking bigger and bigger stuff is SO satisfying, the numbers just go up up up. huges and titanics are the dream and every new event drops fresh ones to chase, plus enchants to min-max your best team. the trading scene is massive too, i love checking values and sniping a good deal. only thing keeping it off a 5 is the rng, some hatches are like one in a million and it low key wants your robux for luck boosts. still pure pet-collector heaven when a gold huge finally pops. 4/5
the hatch loop is basically drop rate roulette but i completely get the pull. its the same core as grinding fruit spawns, you chase the low percent and the dopamine hits when it finally drops
i get why it feels good, thats the exact loop its engineered to give you. but strip the dopamine and look at it clean, every step forward is gated behind an rng hatch the shop happens to sell shortcuts for. the fun is real and thats what makes it effective. its a slot machine that learned to feel like progress
a second home you have to gamble to decorate. the loop feels good because the number goes up, not because youre doing anything, its a slot machine with a pet skin over it. i cannot get past scoring that a 4.
hatching loop is comfy but as a trader the real money isnt what you pull, its flipping the event exclusives while theyre still scarce. hatch for fun, trade for the huges. two different games stacked in one costume.
the hatch and grow loop is so satisfying, breaking bigger stuff never gets old. my only gripe is the same as always, the huge and titanic odds are brutal and the luck boosts get predatory. still the best collection depth out there imo.
