the day two strangers became my siblings
one of my favorite roleplay memories happened completely by accident in Brookhaven. i was just quietly decorating a house when two players wandered in and, with zero planning, one of them goes 'sis, mom says dinner's ready.' and just like that, i had a family. we rolled with it for over an hour, made up backstories on the fly, had a dramatic argument about a made-up inheritance, then made up again in the kitchen over pretend pancakes. other players started joining as neighbors and cousins until we had this whole living neighborhood storyline going. nobody was in charge, nobody had a script, it just grew on its own. that's the beauty of a good RP sandbox, it hands you an empty town and trusts the players to fill it with heart. i logged off grinning ear to ear. those two strangers probably don't even remember it, but i think about that little family all the time. this is exactly why i roleplay.
