still learning lua and arcane odyssey makes me feel like i just started. the core system lets you pick a base magic then layer a fighting style and a weapon on top, and everything scales off your stat build, magic, strength, weapons, vitality. that means every combination has to interact cleanly, damage, status effects like burning or freezing, clashing against other magics. thats a huge tree of modules all talking to each other without falling over. add that its an almost seamless open ocean you sail across with real ship damage and boss fights, and the streaming alone is a feat. it isnt flawless, big group fights dip the framerate and a few hitboxes feel generous, but the ambition and structure here is the bar i measure my own tiny projects against. one dev team did this. wild.
