the mimic leans on japanese folklore harder than any roblox horror and it pays off. the yokai roots, the family curse threading through the books, the shrine and school settings, theres real cultural worldbuilding under the scares instead of just hallways. nozomi and the family story give it emotional weight most of these games skip. only thing keeping me at a 4 is its more of a linear told story than a cryptic iceberg, the mystery gets spelled out chapter by chapter so theres less to actually theorize about once youve played the books. still, dense atmosphere and folklore i genuinely enjoyed digging into

L’atmosphère est irréelle et l’éclairage des lanternes fait énormément. Un souhait d’accessibilité cependant : les chapitres plus sombres deviennent si sombres que les détails à faible contraste disparaissent pour moi, et un curseur de luminosité ou de contraste permettrait aux joueurs daltoniens ou malvoyants de voir réellement le folklore que vous louez au lieu de le deviner.

the atmosphere is unreal and that lantern lighting does so much. one accessibility wish though, the darker chapters get so dim that low-contrast detail vanishes for me, and a brightness or contrast slider would let colorblind and low-vision players actually see the folklore youre praising instead of guessing at it.

C’est pour ça que j’adore les expressions faciales, le folklore japonais et les yukai le rendent spécial parmi tous les films d’horreur Roblox. La malédiction de la famille à travers tous les chapitres est très bien réalisée. Critique géniale
