blox fruits proves you dont have to paywall a grind
i spend most of my time here calling out paywalls, so let me point at a game that actually got it right for once.
blox fruits is a genuinely massive grind and it never once locks the real game behind money. every fruit is farmable or buyable with in game beli, every awakening is a raid you can run for free, and the strongest builds in the entire game can be put together by somebody who has never opened the robux shop a single time. the gamepasses exist, sure, 2x mastery, faster boats, a fruit notifier, but line them all up and every single one of them is a time saver, not power.
a paying player gets there faster. a free player gets to the exact same place. thats the entire difference between fair monetization and predatory monetization, and it honestly isnt complicated. sell me convenience, dont sell me the ending. if a pet gacha game can pull in billions, a grind game can survive selling fast travel. more devs should study why blox fruits keeps its players around instead of just extracting from them and moving on.
