Ang AOTR ay isa sa iilang grind games kung saan ang galaw mismo ang skill. Ang ODM gear ay may totoong hangganan, ang magagaling na manlalaro ay mabilis na umiikot sa titan at winawasak ang batok habang ang mga hindi magagaling na manlalaro ay bumagsak sa pader. Solid din ang build variety, ang thunder spear builds at shifter builds ay talagang iba ang laro. Ang tanging dahilan kung bakit ito 4 at hindi 5 ay dahil sa family at padded ang xp grind para makatipid ng oras, at ang ilang titan spawns ay purong RNG. Pero malinis ito sa mekanika.

aotr is one of the few grind games where the movement itself is the skill. odm gear has a real ceiling, good players zip around a titan and shred the nape while bad players faceplant into a wall. build variety is solid too, thunder spear builds and shifter builds actually play different. only reason its a 4 and not a 5 is the family and xp grind is padded to sell time savers, and some titan spawns are pure rng. mechanically though its clean.
