our friday night family roleplay tradition

friday nights have become our thing. after dinner all three kids and i pile onto the couch with our tablets, hop into the same brookhaven server, and pick a house together. the kids run the whole show, they assign everyone a role, my oldest is the big sibling in charge, the middle one insists on being the family pet half the time, and my youngest just wants to drive the car around very badly and honk at everyone. i mostly play the mom character and try not to laugh too hard. there are no missions or points, its pure make believe, and watching them build little storylines together, going to work, throwing a party, a pretend birthday for the dog, is honestly the sweetest thing. one night the middle kid decided the house was haunted and they spent forever investigating with flashlights, something they came up with entirely on their own. brookhaven gives them a blank canvas and they fill it with the funniest, most creative stuff. it is our little weekly ritual now and i treasure it.
